FASHION DESIGN

For our second week of program, we had to design a garment with paper that was inspired by one of the room that are in the MET from louis XIV until XVI. So I decided to create a long skirt that had a "skeleton" as the ones that women wear in the XIVth century. I make it with diferent types of paper, For the skeleton I used gold poster and for the skirt that is above it I used red paper.

GRAPHIC DESIGN.

Our first project was to create a travel poster. For this project I made a Travel poster to Ibiza. Most people stereotype Ibiza as a destination where a lot of party and the night life go on, but I wanted to show the other part of this island, its warm sunsets. After a process of brainstorming I came with the idea of making the shadow of the island in the afternoon so that the sky had a great mix of sunset colors. For this project I only used acrylic paint although in the first sketches I did it with watercolor.

This picture shows one of my first sketches. It's done using watercolor paints. It was just one rough idea so that I could see how it will look like.

Once I decided that this was the idea that I wanted to use I started to develope it more. For the next skecth I already used acrylic paint and I tried to put some text so that I could see how to fix it in the paint. This is one of the sketches that I did with acrylic paint.

This is how the final idea look like for Jess class. A piece of graphic design done with acrylic paint in a 15'' x 20'' illustration board.

For Patrick's class I used the same image but I added some text though it was a travel poster, where you need to say at least the destination that you wanted to "sell".
